Lynn Delfosse is a Registered Sign Language Interpreter from Wales; She qualified as an interpreter in 1996 and has worked since that time as an interpreter, manager, consultant, teacher, ASLI mentor, A1 Assessor and internal and external quality assurer (IV/EV) for both the BSL and interpreting awards.

Previously Lynn worked for RNID/Action on Hearing Loss as the Head of Communication Training and worked with interpreters, associations and the Deaf community on a number of Welsh Assembly and ESF funded projects. In addition to the above Lynne also managed the successful BSL Futures project, which trained four Deaf tutors to become qualified teachers, and enabled 30 apprentice interpreters to register with the NRCPD, thus improving the access and quality of language service professionals in Wales.

Lynn has not only been responsible for assessing qualifications but she has also worked with the Association of Lipspeaking Professionals and Speech to Text Reporters on the development of the National Occupational Standards for their respective professions.  Recently, Lynn played an instrumental part in the management and delivery of the first Level 6 Diploma in Sign Language Translation and also the delivery of online assessments for interpreters and CPD for Speech to Text Reporters.  In November 2009, at the Signature annual awards, Lynn’s commitment to the profession was recognised as she was awarded the prestigious Joseph Maitland Robinson Award for Outstanding Contribution (towards achieving a society in which people who are deaf have full access).

From reading the above, you can see that we are honoured and lucky to have her as part of our training and assessment team.
