Accessibility Statement
Last updated: September 2026
BSL Interpretations wants this website to be clear, usable and accessible to as many people as possible.
We aim to follow recognised accessibility good practice, including the principles of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA where reasonably possible.
Using this website
The website has been designed with accessibility in mind. This includes:
- clear heading structures and page hierarchy
- readable text sizes and spacing
- sufficient colour contrast
- keyboard-accessible navigation and controls
- visible keyboard focus indicators
- labelled form fields
- responsive layouts for desktop, tablet and mobile
- alternative text for meaningful images where appropriate
- controls for interactive content
- no automatic playback of audio or video
- captions or English subtitles on testimonial videos where supplied
- links and buttons that are intended to be understandable from their surrounding context
The website can also be enlarged using standard browser zoom controls.
Learning Hub
The BSL Interpretations Learning Hub is a protected area requiring an authorised member account.
We aim to apply the same accessibility principles to the Learning Hub and its activities. Individual learning resources may use different formats, including written material, video, downloadable documents and interactive activities.
If you experience difficulty accessing a Learning Hub resource, please contact us so that we can discuss an appropriate alternative where one is available.
Third-party services
Some parts of the service are provided through third-party platforms, including Humanitix for training bookings and Zoom for live online sessions.
Although we aim to choose services that support accessible use, some aspects of these platforms are outside the direct control of BSL Interpretations.
Feedback and accessibility problems
If you have difficulty accessing any part of this website, completing a form, accessing a resource or using the Learning Hub, please contact us using the Contact page.
Please tell us:
- which page or resource you were trying to access
- what difficulty you experienced
- the format or adjustment that would help where relevant
We will aim to respond and find a reasonable solution wherever possible.
Ongoing review
Accessibility is considered as the website and Learning Hub develop. Content, functionality and new resources will be reviewed periodically, and issues identified through testing or user feedback will be addressed where reasonably possible.
