Website information
Cookie Policy
Last updated: September 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how cookies and similar technologies may be used when you visit the BSL Interpretations website or use the Learning Hub.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small pieces of information stored by a website or service on your device.
They can be used for purposes such as keeping somebody signed in, maintaining security, remembering settings or understanding how a website is used.
Necessary cookies and storage
The website, its hosting service and the Learning Hub may use cookies or similar browser-storage technologies that are necessary for:
- website operation
- security
- authentication
- Learning Hub login
- maintaining an authenticated session
- fraud and abuse prevention
- remembering essential preferences
These technologies may be required for the service to work correctly and may not require optional consent where they are strictly necessary.
Learning Hub authentication
Firebase Authentication is used for Learning Hub sign-in.
Authentication services may use browser storage, identifiers or similar technologies to maintain and secure the user's authenticated session.
Logging out ends the authenticated Learning Hub session in accordance with the authentication system.
Analytics
The BSL Interpretations website does not currently load advertising, behavioural-tracking or optional analytics services.
If analytics or another non-essential technology is introduced and consent is required under applicable law, it will not be activated until the visitor has given the required consent.
Third-party services
If you follow a link to or use a third-party service such as Humanitix or Zoom, that provider may use its own cookies or similar technologies.
Those cookies are controlled by the relevant provider and are subject to that provider's privacy and cookie information.
Managing cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings.
Blocking necessary cookies or browser storage may prevent parts of the website or Learning Hub from working correctly, particularly member login.
Where the website provides cookie-preference controls, you can also use those controls to change your choices for optional cookies.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated if the technologies used by the website or Learning Hub change.
The latest version will be published on this page.
